Help us Create a Broadcast: Your Input could end up on camera!

THE CONCEPT: We're excited to share a new strategy for our 2008 satalite broacast/webcast. The theme is how the web and new technologies are used by California health care consumers--and how public health can keep up.

START THINKING: We're looking for "stories from the field" to fill out a documentary-style program. What have you experienced, or heard about, in your local communities? Any new website or web technologies fascinate you? Tell us about innovations at your LHD (or by others in your community) that have pioneered new ways of getting out immunization messages.

YOUR CALL TO ACTION: Use this blog to share ideas or best practices; you can paste in a URL to a cool website as a reference. Our broadcast team will monitor all postings. We'll use your input to share with our production consultant. Who knows? Your idea could end up as part of the broadcast!

Alameda County Health Department utilized virtual reality in a mass vaccination exercise. They trained responders by showing how a mass vaccination would look like through virtual PODS. It gave the responders/trainees an opportunity to gain a sense of how a real mass vaccination would look like.

Even though I am a great computer fan, there are quite a lot of good things to say about the old paper route. Like, when the electricity goes out.

I would hate to see everything just put on computers.

But maybe this isn't the gist of "Brochure to Blog"??

Yes, you're absolutely right. The B2B project will look at how technology can complement public health practice. Its also about understanding the public as collaborators in health and not just people who seek or need to be informed.
